Here are our itineraries for the 2017 Holid

 

WESTON-SUPER-MARE

TOUR NO.  8       24th-  28th JULY                      5 DAYS                   £382

NO SINGLE SUPPLEMENT 

Weston-Super-Mare is a great seaside resort with all the traditional seaside attractions, including the famous donkeys, level promenade, sandy beach and the newly built Grand Pier.  There is a good selection of shops, bars, cafés and restaurants.

Our hotel is Dauncey’s situated in a prime seafront location with views across Weston Bay and beyond. All rooms are en-suite with television and tea & coffee making facilities. There is a lift to all floors but some steps may occur.

Day 1:  Departing our local area we travel westwards, with a coffee stop en-route and a lunch stop in the beautiful and quaint old Cotswold’s town of Bourton-on-the-Water. Departing mid-afternoon we will reach Weston by late afternoon.

Day 2:   A full day in the unique city of Bath. Visit the Roman Baths and Pump Room or you could take the red ‘hop on hop off’ sightseeing bus where the route takes in Bath Abbey, the Roman Baths and the magnificent Georgian Royal Crescent. 

Day 3:  After a leisurely breakfast we spend the morning at Stonehenge where the new visitor centre gives an insight into the ancient stone circle and its background. We head back to Weston-super-Mare for the afternoon.

Day 4:  Today we start our drive to the harbour town of Watchet for a coffee stop. Here you will have the chance to board the West Somerset Railway that follows part of Bridgewater Bay to Minehead. After allowing time for lunch and sightseeing in Minehead we return to our hotel.

Day 5:  We leave Weston-Super-Mare after breakfast calling into Abbey House Gardens, where the Cotswold meets the West Country, featured on many TV programs, this truly spectacular 5-acre garden beside the 12th century Abbey Church in the centre of Medieval Malmesbury and straddling the River Avon has brought praise from around the world.  We leave Malmsbury arriving in our local area by early evening.

 

 

SCARBOROUGH

TOUR NO.  9        31st JULY – 4th AUGUST        5 DAYS               £313

Scarborough is Britain’s oldest holiday resort known as the ‘Queen of the Yorkshire Coast’. Set on Yorkshire’s glorious north coastline it is a fine Victorian Spa town with one of the finest and safest beaches in Britain, and close to some of England’s most beautiful scenery.

The Delmont Hotel in Scarborough is situated with some views of the North Bay in this popular town. All rooms are en-suite with free view TV, internal phone and tea & coffee making facilities. There is a lift although some steps may occur.

Day 1:  We begin our journey north stopping in Chesterfield for lunch and making comfort breaks en-route before arriving at our hotel.

Day 2:  Today we head back in time and visit Eden Camp Museum. Where you will experience war torn Britain, the sights, sounds and smells of life both on the Home Front and Front Line. Italian prisoners of war built these huts in 1942 each one with a different theme. We then travel onto Thornton-le-Dale a pretty dales village with its old market cross, cafés and gift shops.

Day 3:  Spend the day at leisure in Scarborough.

Day 4:  A morning tour along the coast, past Bridlington continuing to York for a lunch break and afternoon visit.

Day 5:  After breakfast we begin our journey home calling into Langland’s Garden Centre, Leeds for lunch and then continuing our journey making comfort stops en-route.

 

 

ROYAL EDINBURGH TATTOO & LOCH KATRINE

TOUR NO.  10       7th- 10th AUGUST                 4 DAYS                   £348

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT £25 PER NIGHT

Join us for this enthralling military spectacle with its feast of music light and colour in the beautiful surroundings of the floodlit Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle which provides a dramatic backdrop to this display of military precision & colourful costume. Also enjoy a tour of the beautiful Trossachs including a cruise on Loch Katrine.

The Erskine Bridge Hotel & Spa is set in 18 acres of parkland with views of the Erskine Bridge, Kilpatrick Hills and River Clyde.  All rooms are en-suite with tea and coffee making facilities, TV, hairdryer and free Wi-Fi. There is a lift but some steps may occur.  Use of indoor swimming pool and sauna.

Day 1:  Departing northwards we head towards Scotland stopping for comfort breaks and lunch en-route arriving at our hotel in Erskine in good time for dinner. 

Day 2:  Today we travel through picturesque Scottish scenery to Aberfoyle where we enjoy a coffee break before continuing via the Archray Forest and Dukes Pass to Loch Katrine There will be free time for refreshment before we board the legendry steam cruiser the ‘Sir Walter Scott’ for an hour sail.  We continue to enjoy the wonderful scenery as we take a break in Callander, the capital of the region.

Day 3:  We travel to Edinburgh after breakfast where we have a guided tour of the city. The afternoon and early evening will be at leisure in Edinburgh where you could explore the underground tunnels, hop on a local bus to visit The Royal Yacht Britannia at Leith, or just stroll around the city soaking up the atmosphere before rejoining the coach for the evening performance of the Tattoo where you will be enthralled by this colourful military spectacular.  Returning to our hotel by late evening.

Day 4:  We leave Erskine today calling in for a visit to Gretna Green before heading to England with comfort stops on the way home, arriving in our local area by early evening.

 

 

CORNISH DELIGHTS - ST IVES

TOUR NO.  11       12th- 16th AUGUST               5 DAYS                   £340

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT £8 PER NIGHT

St Ives is a strikingly picturesque town with glorious beaches close to the town.  It is a haven for artists with a branch of the Tate Gallery overlooking Porthmeor beach. The streets of St Ives are steep, narrow and winding, with a wealth of quaint shops and tea rooms.

The Cottage Hotel is situated in extensive grounds overlooking Carbis Bay, 300 yards from the beach and two minutes’ walk from Carbis Bay railway station which is a delightful 5-minute journey from St Ives. The hotel has a large ballroom with entertainment most evenings, 2 bars, snooker table, TV lounge, outdoor swimming pool and the restaurant and sun lounge have lovely views of the bay. All rooms are en-suite with tea making facilities, internal phone, hairdryer & TV with radio. There is free Wi-Fi in public areas, 2 lifts serve most bedrooms, although the entertainment room is only accessible via stairs.

Day 1:  Departing from our local pick up points, with stops en-route for coffee and lunch, we arrive at our hotel by late afternoon.

Day 2:  Today we visit Lands End for a coffee stop and then travel to Penzance, a typical small Cornish port for a lunch stop. Our route continues past St Michaels Mount in the sweeping Mounts Bay before returning to our hotel.

Day 3:  A choice of visiting the lost Gardens of Heligan for those people wishing to see these reclaimed gardens.  For those not alighting the coach we continue to Mevagissey to spend the day here, an artist’s paradise.

Day 4:  A morning visit to the tiny fishing village of Mousehole with its galleries, gift shops and cafés. After lunch we return to the hotel in St Ives for the afternoon.

Day 5:  Departing after breakfast we retrace our outward route with comfort stops on the way to arrive in our area by late afternoon.

 

 

SCOTTISH BORDERS & THE LAKE DISTRICT

TOUR NO.  12        21st- 25th AUGUST              5 DAYS                   £340

Whilst historically linked to romance, Gretna Green is also steeped in history and magical charm.  Located in the Scottish Borders, it’s also a great base to explore England’s beautiful Lake District.

Our Hotel is the Gretna Hall Hotel, originally built as a manor house is set in 10 acres of beautiful gardens offers all the character of a substantial historical building with all the facilities you would expect from a leading contemporary hotel.

Day 1:  We travel up to Scotland stopping for comfort and lunch breaks along the way.

Day 2:  This morning we make our way to Dumfries. It was here the national poet, Robbie Burns spent his last years and we visit the Robert Burns Centre that tells us the connection between the poet and town. From here we make our way to Threave Gardens, with 65 acres of themed ornamental gardens.

Day 3:  A short drive to the Lake District today. Arriving at Pooley Bridge we join Ullswater Steamers for an hour-long cruise across Lake Ullswater to Glenridding, where we re-join our coach and make our way to Keswick. There is time to explore and have lunch before continuing on to Cockermouth, the birth place of Wordsworth, you could visit Wordsworth House and Gardens or look around the Memorial Gardens with the opportunity of feeding the ducks on the river Derwent. We then head back to our hotel for the evening.

Day 4:  A leisurely breakfast is followed by a short drive to the west of Gretna Green to the Devil’s Porridge Exhibition. Enjoy a fascinating insight into the history of how the largest munitions factory in the world came to be built in Gretna, the rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy exploring Gretna Green.

Day 5:  After breakfast we say farewell to Gretna and make our way home, calling in to Oswaldtwistle Mills shopping village and Garden Centre, with crafts, flowers, furniture, garden and gift ideas before heading to our local area with comfort breaks along the way.

 

 

CLASSIC KILLARNEY & THE RING OF KERRY

4 star Hotel

Ireland, a country of many contrasts and for this holiday we venture to Killarney. It has a National Park which is famous all over the world. This area represents all the best of Ireland and shows its relaxed way of life and magnificent scenery. Many of the shops stay open until late, there is music emanating from bars and the famous ‘jaunting carts’ are always on the move. Combine all this with the well-known Irish hospitality and you are certain of a good holiday..

The Killarney Towers Hotel has a great reputation and occupies prime position in Killarney. The 4-star hotel offers nightly entertainment and a lift to all floors. Each hotel room offers guests all the modern conveniences that you would expect from a contemporary 4-star hotel. Overnight stay on the journey out will be 3 star Treacy’s Hotel, Waterford, and on the way home it will be the Maldron Hotel also a 3 star in Wexford.

Day 1:  We make our way to Pembroke for the crossing to Rosslare making comfort stops along the way. Following the afternoon crossing, we travel on to Treacys Hotel in Waterford for our overnight stay.

Day 2:  After a full Irish breakfast we begin our journey across Ireland to Killarney, making a stop for coffee in Dungarven and for lunch in Cork before arriving at the hotel in the early evening.

Day 3:  Today we have a full day tour around the famous ‘Ring of Kerry’. This is an unforgettable tour with many beautiful views of the McGillicuddy Reeks Mountains, the spectacular coastline and many ancient settlements.

Day 4:  We have a day to spend exploring Killarney, beginning with a traditional jaunting cart ride through the Killarney National Park. Then enjoy a delightful lake cruise on Lough Leane, returning from Ross Castle by coach to explore Killarney’s shops and cafés at your leisure.

Day 5:  We take a tour of the breathtaking scenery in the Dingle Peninsula. The whole area is rich in ruined fortresses and ancient burial grounds, traditional currach (boat) buildings and handicraft centres

Day 6:  We say farewell to Killarney today and make our way back across Ireland to Wexford, stopping at the Maldron Hotel.

Day 7:  Taking the morning ferry from Rosslare back to Pembroke continuing our journey home making comfort stops along the way.

 

 

TENBY

TOUR NO.  15       28th AUGUST – 1st SEPTEMBER    5 DAYS   £377

NO SINGLE SUPPLEMENT 

Tenby is on the South Wales coast and is a small medieval town which is still surrounded by its 15th Century Town walls.  It has award winning beaches and views over the Peninsula and Carmarthen Bay to the east. To the south there are views over to the island of Caldey where Cistercian monks can be found.

The Clarence House Hotel is situated on the esplanade with stunning views. It is a level walk to the town centre and opposite there are steps down to the beach. All rooms are en-suite with TV, tea & coffee making facilities and individually controlled heating. There is a lift to all floors but some steps may occur.  ‘Happy Hours’ every day between 5pm – 6pm and from 8pm to 9pm. Live entertainment most nights and porterage included.

Day 1:  From our local area we travel across the heart of England via Shakespeare’s Stratford upon Avon then through the Vale of Evesham to make a lunch stop in Ross on Wye. This afternoon we follow the Wye Valley past Monmouth to the south coast of Wales reaching our hotel by late afternoon.

Day 2:  Spend today at leisure in Tenby. Stroll along the cobbled shopping streets or wander along the harbour where you could board one of the cruises to nearby Caldey Island. 

Day 3:  This morning we call at the beauty spot of Cenarth Falls where the river Teifi cascades over a series of rocky ledges, before we reach the old town of Cardigan which has a delightful Welsh character. The River Teifi flows into Cardigan Bay in an idyllic setting beneath the cliff-top hamlet of Gwbert-on-sea, from where we explore more of the unspoilt coastline, before returning through the Presili Hills, reputed to be the origin of the mammoth granite stones used to construct Stonehenge.

Day 4:  In the morning we take a nostalgic ride on the Gwili Steam Railway which takes you to Danycoed Halt and back again to Bronwydd Arms. We then have an afternoon visit to Aberglasney House & Garden, spectacularly set in the beautiful Tywi valley of Carnarhenshire, Aberglasney House features one of the finest gardens in Wales.

Day 5:  After breakfast we begin our journey home making comfort stops for coffee and a lunch break in Swindon.  We arrive back in our local area by late afternoon. 

 

 

LIVERPOOL & MANCHESTER SHIP CANAL CRUISE

TOUR NO.  16       3rd- 7th SEPTEMBER          5 DAYS                   £320

Discover Liverpool’s glorious maritime history and experience the Manchester Ship Canal Cruise.

Liverpool Days Inn is in the heart of the City’s business district just a short walk from Liverpool One, Albert Dock and the Echo Arena. We are offering bed and breakfast at this hotel, you are however welcome to have your evening meal at the hotel, just book at reception, or there are many restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. All rooms are en-suite with TV, air conditioning, tea & coffee making facilities and hairdryer. There is a lift to all rooms but some steps may occur. Porterage included.

Day 1:  Departing from our local area we make our way northwards with a coffee stop en route and stop for lunch in Buxton in the middle of the Peak District then continue our way to Liverpool.

Day 2:  Today, we go to Liverpool Pier Head for the Manchester Ship Canal Cruise to Salford Quays, one of Britain’s most historic waterways. This cruise lasts 6 hours taking in spectacular scenery with live commentary along the way revealing insights into facts, history and dramas, going through locks and under bridges which have not changed for over 100 years.  There are excellent facilities on board including a licensed bar and refreshments. The coach will be waiting at Salford Quays to take you back to the hotel.

Day 3:  Enjoy a day exploring this famous City. Liverpool’s Cathedral is the largest in the UK, head down to the Mersey for a river cruise, or take a guided tour on the open top bus. Of course, there are many Beatles attractions and there is always Liverpool One for shopping.

Day 4:  Escape the City today with a day excursion to the Victorian seaside town of Southport. The parks, gardens, Promenade, pier and of course sandy beaches are waiting to be explored.

Day 5:  Departing after breakfast we start our homeward journey. We head for the northern end of the Peak District and climb Snake Pass and pass the Derwent and Ladybower Reservoirs and then on through Hathersage, stopping for lunch in Chesterfield known for its crooked spire and then continuing our journey home.

 

 

COTSWOLDS - 4 STAR HOTEL

TOUR NO. 17        8th- 11th SEPTEMBER      4 DAYS          £327

The Cotswold’s (‘Wolds’ meaning hillsides) is one of the most 'quintessentially English' and unspoiled regions of England where you cannot help but fall in love with the uniqueness of it.

The Mercure Gloucester Bowden Hotel is an elegant, Regency style 4-star hotel set within 12 acres of rolling parkside.  The rooms are equipped with hairdryer, TV and tea/coffee making facilities.  The hotel does not have a lift and there are 14 steps to the first floor.

Day 1:  Leaving our local area and making coffee/comfort breaks on the way we head for Oxford in time for lunch and then for a few hours exploring in the afternoon before travelling on to our hotel.

Day 2:  This morning we make our way to the beautiful cathedral city of Gloucester and visit The House of the Taylor of Gloucester, a charming museum and quaint shop based on Beatrix Potter’s famous story.  We can then wander around Gloucester’s magnificent medieval Cathedral, a donation to the Cathedral is requested, where some of Harry Potter movies were filmed.  After lunch in Gloucester, we will visit the Victorian docks overlooking the River Severn. The ‘Onedin Line’ BBC drama was filmed at the dockside. Here we take a 45-minute boat trip on the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. There will be time to explore this fascinating area before returning to the hotel.

Day 3:  Today we make our way to Sudeley Castle, the former home of King Henry VIII’s wife, Katherine Parr, who is buried in the grounds. The Castle was also used as a refuge by King Charles I during the English Civil War. We will explore the beautiful interior and gardens of this privately-owned family property, set within the backdrop of the stunning Cotswold’s. We can enjoy lunch in the Terrace Café, located within the Banqueting Hall before spending the afternoon in the picturesque Cotswold villages of Bourton-on-the Water and Stow-on-the-Wold.

Day 4:  After breakfast we travel to Stratford-Upon-Avon for lunch and free time before heading home.

 

 

CRICCIETH, WALES

TOUR NO.  18        20th- 24th SEPTEMBER      5 DAYS                  £332

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT £8 PER NIGHT

Criccieth lies on the south coast of the Llyn Peninsula, where the edge of Snowdonia National Park meets the sea with views over Cardigan bay. Criccieth has a selection of family run shops and some good pubs and restaurants, with 2 blue flag beaches, spectacular sunsets and its temperate climate the town is awash with colour nearly all year round.

The George IV Hotel is situated on the High Street in the centre of Criccieth with magnificent views towards the sea and castle from many bedrooms. All rooms are en-suite, have tea/coffee making facilities, internal phone, hairdryer and TV with radio. There is free Wi-Fi in public areas and a lift which serves all floors.

Day 1:  We depart our local area to head to Wales stopping on route for lunch and refreshments arriving at our hotel in good time for the evening meal.

Day 2:  A morning coastal drive to the yachting resort of Abersoch for a coffee break before returning to Pwllheli for a browse.  After lunch we return to Criccieth for an afternoon by the sea.

Day 3:  Today we make our way to the famous Blaenau Ffestiniog Railway, joining the train at Porthmadog travelling through the National Park with stunning views to Caernarfon with the imposing castle looking over the Menai Straits and the Island of Anglesey (the train has a refreshment trolley). We have some free time here before returning by coach for more coastal scenery to Criccieth.

Day 4:  Another scenic day in Snowdonia, our route will be Porthmadog then over to Bala, on to Blaenau Ffestiniog and Betwys-y-coed going up to Ruthin and Denbigh and Llandudno.

Day 5:  Leaving Wales after breakfast we start our journey home via Bala Lake and Corwen to Llangollen where we board a narrowboat for a 45-minute cruise. Boarding the coach, we continue our journey home making comfort breaks along the way.

 

 

NEWQUAY

TOUR NO.  19        25th- 29th SEPTEMBER    5 DAYS          £313

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT £5.00 PER NIGHT

Newquay offers a rare mix of wonderful coastlines, spectacular beaches, rock pools teeming with marine life, soaring cliffs with magnificent views and delightful gardens for tranquil strolls.  Its sheltered harbour is not just a working fishing port but also a pleasure area where you can take sea-trips or just sit and watch the fascinating scene. 

Your hotel is the Godolphin Arms which is ideally situated close to the beaches and convenient for the town centre.  All rooms are en-suite with hospitality tray and TV. There is no lift to the hotels two floors but there are two ground floor rooms. There is entertainment two evenings.

Day 1:  Heading down to the south west and across Bodmin Moor with coffee/lunch stops on the way to Newquay.

Day 2:  After breakfast we travel to St Austall to the Eden Project. The Eden Project was built in a disused clay mine which has been transferred into a rich global garden home to over one million plants from all over the world. There is always something to see at Eden. A full day will be spent here for you to take time to enjoy the many varied spectacular things on offer.

Day 3:  This morning we travel along the coast road to Padstow, an ancient but charming busy fishing port with wide sandy beaches, picturesque pastel coloured stone cottages, it is also the home of the TV chef Rick Stein.  We return to Newquay for the afternoon.

Day 4:  We visit Cornwall’s only cathedral city of Truro this morning. A city steeped in history and awe-inspiring architecture, there is plenty to see and do. Whether you are keen to shop, visit the gardens, or simply meander through the Georgian streets we are sure you will enjoy your visit to Truro. In the afternoon relax on a boat trip along the stunning banks of the river Fal, passing ocean going ships at anchor, the Tudor castles of Falmouth, St Mawes, St Anthony’s lighthouse and into Falmouth harbour, the third deepest natural harbour in the world and its busy docks.

Day 5:  Leaving the south west this morning we travel back to our local area making comfort/coffee and lunch breaks on the way.

 

 

JERSEY

TOUR NO.  20        1st- 6th OCTOBER              6 DAYS                   £376

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT £5.00 PER NIGHT

Jersey is the most southerly island of the British Isles and the largest of the Chanel Islands with the warmest climate in Britain, friendly communities, a rugged coastline and gentle, unspoiled scenery. One of the most dramatic sights on Jersey is the 13th-century Mount Orgeuil castle, built on the remains of an Iron Age fort a few miles east of the capital St Helier.

Your hotel is the Mayfair, conveniently located just outside the main centre in St Helier and just a ten-minute walk from the beach. The hotel features a relaxing lounge bar, a coffee shop, indoor pool with Jacuzzi, steam room and gym, outside roof terrace and some entertainment. All rooms are ensuite equipped with TV, direct dial telephone, hairdryer and coffee and tea making facilities. There is a lift but some steps may occur.

Day 1:   Making an early start we travel to Poole, with a comfort stop en-route, to board the Condor for the crossing over to Jersey. A coach will be waiting to take you to your hotel in time for the evening meal.

Day 2  - 5:  Enjoy the hotel facilities, shopping in St Helier and relax on the vast sandy beaches or if you wish to explore the island a courier will be available to advise you of optional tours and excursions. You may wish to visit the world famous Jersey Zoo, the War Tunnels or follow the narrow paths and lanes that will take you through charming villages to sites of great natural beauty.

Day 6:  Depart by coach to the harbour for your return crossing. Our coach will be waiting for you at Poole, with comfort stops en-route we arrive back in our local area by late evening.

 

 

SUSSEX COAST - BOGNOR REGIS

TOUR NO.  21         11th- 15th OCTOBER                5 DAYS            £272

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT £7 PER NIGHT

Bognor Regis is a small seaside town on the south coast of England.  Sheltered by the Selsey peninsula and South Downs, Bognor enjoys a higher than average sunshine record with clean beaches and along flat promenade.

The Royal Norfolk Hotel is situated on the sea front, very close to the pier and a short walk (approx. 10 minutes) from the shops.  All rooms are en-suite and have tea/coffee making facilities, internal phone, hair dryer and TV. The Goodwood Suite has a bar where entertainment is provided. A lift serves most rooms. (some rooms accessed via several stairs)

Day 1:  Departing our local area we make our way towards West Sussex stopping in Windsor for lunch and some free time. Arriving at our hotel in the afternoon.

Day 2:  This morning we travel to historic Arundel, its Castle and Cathedral dominate the countryside. In the afternoon we continue to the seaside town of Worthing, the largest town in West Sussex.

Day 3:  Enjoy our tour of the scenic south downs including Petworth, Midhurst, Chichester and West Wittering Beach this morning, returning to Bognor for a look around this seaside resort in the afternoon.

Day 4:  We take a trip to Portsmouth, famous for its Maritime history, discover the world-famous ships, HMS Victory, The Mary Rose and HMS Warrior that have shaped British History at Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard.  There is also the Spinnaker Tower, the D-Day Museum and Gunwharf Quays for discount shopping.

Day 5:  On our way home we stop in the City of Guildford for some leisure time before we make our way back home by late afternoon.

 

 

BOURNEMOUTH

TOUR NO.  22       16th- 20th OCTOBER                5 DAYS            £293

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT £3 PER NIGHT

Bournemouth is well situated on the sunny south coast on top of spectacular chalk cliffs with seven miles of clean safe beaches, award winning gardens, shopping centre and a stylish tree lined boulevard of boutiques.

The Ullswater is a family run hotel providing a warm and friendly atmosphere situated in a favoured position on the West Cliff and within sight of the sea.  All rooms are en-suite with tea/coffee making facilities, TV, radio and a direct dial phone. There is a lift although some steps may occur.

Day 1:  We depart the local area making comfort stops on the way to Winchester for lunch and some free time. Re-boarding the coach we head on to our hotel in Bournemouth.

Day 2:  Today we take a scenic drive into the New Forest enjoying the picturesque villages and unspoilt landscapes. Travelling via Brocklehurst to Lyndhurst, with its numerous café’s and on to Salisbury with its impressive cathedral. 

Day 3:  A morning excursion to Dorchester today where it is market day, their slogan is ‘Bring big bags and little money’ so you may pick up a bargain! Returning to Bournemouth for the afternoon at leisure.

Day 4:  After breakfast we travel to Norden to catch the mid-morning Swanage Railway steam train, past Corfe Castle to the sea side of Swanage. After a little free time, we rejoin our coach for the short journey to Poole, the 2nd largest natural harbour in the world (Sydney is no 1!), with covered shopping centres, the renowned Poole Pottery, the Waterfront Museum and wonderful vistas.

Day 5:  Departing from Bournemouth after breakfast we journey to Windsor for the lunchtime period before continuing towards home.

 

 

BLACKPOOL ILLUMINATIONS

Blackpool is probably the most well-known and liveliest resorts of them all with an abundance of attractions for all ages. The world-famous Illuminations have been drawing crowds for decades. The Tower and seafront is transformed into a magical world of light and colour the full length of the Golden Mile. 

The New Hacketts Hotel is ideally situated on Queens Promenade. All rooms are en-suite with TV and tea/coffee making facilities and there is a lift but some steps may occur. There will be some evening entertainment.

Day 1:  Leaving our local area travelling to Blackpool making comfort stops en-route.  After dinner at the hotel we board the coach for our Illuminations Tour.  Nearly 400,000 lights make up a fascinating array of feature displays that glitter along the seafront.

Day 2:  Free day in Blackpool to enjoy all of the attractions.

Day 3:  After breakfast we leave Blackpool and stop for lunch in Trentham Gardens, arriving home early evening.

 

 

TORQUAY – TURKEY & TINSEL

The Regina Hotel is situated on the flat harbour side, with the principal shops, pavilion and theatre are all a level short stroll away.  All rooms are en-suite with tea/coffee making facilities, internal ‘phone, hairdryer and TV with radio channels. There is a lift serving most rooms.

Day 1:  We leave our local area travelling to the English Riviera, with comfort stops.  Arriving at our hotel in time for a Sherry Reception, Evening Dinner followed by music, dancing & entertainment.

Day 2:  Today, after breakfast we take a tour of the local area.  A Gala Dinner is followed by dancing and entertainment.

Day 3:  Morning at leisure. Christmas Day Traditional Grand festive lunch with visit from Santa.  An Evening Dinner is followed by a Christmas Party

Day 4:  After breakfast we take a tour of the local area arriving back for Boxing Day lunch and Dinner and a farewell Fancy Dress party (optional), dancing & entertainment.

Day 5:  After breakfast we leave this beautiful part of the country and start homeward.  With comfort stops for coffee and lunch we arrive back in our local area by late afternoon.

 The Cairn Hotel is a charming Victorian hotel situated within its own grounds and approximately 5 minute’s walk away from the town centre.  All rooms are en-suite with tea/coffee making facilities, TV, direct dial telephone and hairdryer.  There is a lift although some steps may occur.

 Day 1:  We leave the local area making comfort breaks and stopping for lunch before arriving at our hotel.  When you have settled in there will be a pre-dinner mulled wine drinks reception.  Live entertainment will follow into the evening.

Day 2:  After a hearty Yorkshire breakfast we visit the St Nicholas Festival in York.  This annual Christmas fayre, set in the historic square, has continued since medieval times.  The city comes alive with Victorian costumed traders, carol singers and delicious smells of the roasted chestnuts and hot chocolate laced with brandy.  Back to the hotel in time for a 3 course carvery-style dinner and yet another evening of great live entertainment.

Day 3:  Spend the morning enjoying the attractions Harrogate has to offer.  Please be sure to be back in the hotel in the afternoon where there will be a ‘festive themed’ mini afternoon tea and a glass of Festive Fizz.  There will be dinner again in the evening with live entertainment.

Day 4: After a delicious full English breakfast, we head off to a German Market, Christkindlmarket in Leeds, where over 40 traders from Frankfurt set up stalls at one of the UK’s most established German Markets. Unique gifts, hand crafted jewellery and toys and traditional German delicacies including stolen, bratworst, gingerbread and gluhwein are available.  After dinner at the hotel there is live entertainment.

 Day 5:  After a tasty full English breakfast we head home, making comfort and lunch stops along the way.

 

 

BOURNEMOUTH –  FESTIVE SPARKLE
